I'll be debt free in 6 months. A single mom with no more kids at home, I can finally save. I'm unemployed but that's ok. With the remaining little pension and 401k i was able to finish paying all medical bills (yay) 3 credit cards and various bills. I'm happy. Do you realize I only have just 2 credit cards to pay off. What joy! I use the envelope mehtod, it keeps me on track. Want another tip? When tv commercials come on, just turn off the sound! It makes a big difference in your mind where they want you to buy buy buy, with money you do not have. Try it...it works. You still see the item they are promoting, without all the hype.
